SAMBA not allowing printing

Postby ddalley on Sun Mar 10, 2013 9:21 pm

I just made a new KDE 13 LTS install and it will print just fine if the printer is plugged directly into the USB port. The printer set-up did everything normally, up to the test print stage. However, when I try to use the printer connected to the printer port of the networked NAS box, it won't even cycle up the printer or print a test page. The NAS box indicates that it is receiving the command, just not doing anything after that point.

SAMBA seems to be dealing with shares OK.

When I check the NAS box's menu, it shows it recognises the printer when connected to that USB port, so can anyone explain why this isn't working and how to get it going?
