[SOLVED] Mint KDE + Wine + Packet Tracer 5.3 problems

Hi!

I first tried to install PT from source, but it would'nt start. I dont know it the package is damaged or something, downloaded from some site.

I deleted the packet and installed Wine from the softwarecenter. I downloaded a PT.exe file from my schools website, right clicked and opened in Wine. It seems to install ok, but it wont start eighter. I can find the installed program in ./wine but it won't start.

How can I trouble shoot and fix this?

I got this solved by:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.5
sudo apt-get install winetricks

Now Packet Tracer 5.3 runs nicely!

Did you check if it will work with wine? or Search google for answer?

Yeah, I know it could seem lazy to ask these kind of questions on open forums, but I am in a hurry. Hoped this could buy me some time. Sorry about that!

PT should work fine with Wine:

I spent some time on this forum last night and read that Mint 13 Mate has problems with Wine - or vice versa.
Are these problems known in Mint KDE as well?

I have not tried Wine + PT in other distros, though.
