CPU Frequency Throttling

Post by Tex-Twil »

Hello,
I'd like to adjust the CPU frequency of my laptop if I'm running on the battery. I read this wiki entry :
http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... Throttling

however i don't know what "your-cpu-chipset" value should I use. I have a VAIO laptop with a Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 1.83Ghz.

Thanks for your help,
Tex

Ok the missing link was "acpi" :) I have this in my /etc/modprob:

Code: Select all

acpi
cpufreq_ondemand
cpufreq_userspace
cpufreq_powersave
cpufreq_performance
and it seems to work.
