[solved]Batch file exstension editing

Post by jamsterthecool »

Hi,

I use software on my android to record internet radio stream .However, it saves the files with it's own default file exstension .Sometimes there may be over 20 plus files.Manually changing their exstensions is time consuming .Is their a program I can use, or a simple command line method, to select all the files in any folder and change their exstensions to mp3 ?.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge .

Found a way to do this using Thunar file manager(simply select 2 or more files and select rename and a box opens up that allows you to batch edit names and or suffix/exstention).It comes with linux mint but is not the default file manager .

Try to find a way to make it the default file manger now .
