linux mint 14 boots into Vista

Hi,
I just installed Linux Mint 14 (along with my existing Vista); the installation went OK with no problems but now when I restart the computer it does not give me an option to boot in Mint; it always boots into Vista like nothing was installed.

When I boot with the live CD I can see that it has created the partition but it does not use this partition to boot.

Please help,

Hello dhiru and welcome to Mint,

Sometimes there are problems installing the boot loader. It can often be fixed with a tool called boot-repair
you can get it here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair

follow the instructions on the page.
