Please, just wondering if anyone else has been having problems with Update Manager in the last few days.
Downloading Package Information gets hung up at Downloading 66 of 95. I wind up having to cancel it, then I get this:
Failed to fetch http://archive.removed/ubuntu/dists/ ... elease.gpg Connection failed
Failed to fetch http://archive.removed/ubuntu/dists/ ... ackages.xz
Failed to fetch http://archive.removed/ubuntu/dists/ ... n-en_US.xz
Failed to fetch http://archive.removed/ubuntu/dists/ ... ion-en.bz2
Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I've even gone into Software Sources to change servers, but I'm still having problems.
Thank you very much in advance for any and all advice/help.
Sincerely,
UUUnicorn

Re: Update Manager problems (server(s)?
Working fine for me. I seem to recall there being a way to make the ubuntu servers use mirrors instead of the official ones. Search around for it. You had to edit your sources.list file.

Hi.
I'm having the same problem, sometimes with medibuntu and one ot two ppas as well. I've tried changing to different mirrors, but it doesn't make any difference.

Right now removed seem to be down. It's kind of their signum, up/down/up/down... etc.

Here's a mirror:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/removed-mirror-site.html
Just substitute lucid for precise in the commands to make it work with your install.

The problems seem to have been rectified now. All is OK.
