K9Copy not starting?

Post by RonnyS »

I tried using K9Copy for the first time tonight to copy some dvd's and I tried clicking on it and it would not start. Nothing happened. Then I tried K9Copy Assistant and same thing. So I tried uninstalling K9Copy and reinstalling and same thing. Nothing.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening?

My PC is:

Dell Optiplex 760
2 gigs ram
500 gig hdd
New dvd recorder (that records using K3B - so I know it works)
Intel built in video

Hello RonnyS,
Sorry it's giving you problems.
If you could go to a terminal and type:

Code: Select all

k9copy
then list any error messages that are reported here.

kc1di, I did that and the cursor blinked about 10 times and then the program started. No errors reported. I wonder why it won't start using the menu icon?

Well something must be wrong in the programs .desktop file and would have to be edited from /usr/share/applications. I don't have it installed here at the moment so can't really check it out.
But it should be fixable.
I'll install it and see if I can come up with a fix but may take a day or two as I'm on the road today.
Cheers
