ALC280 Support - Toshiba Satellite

Postby harmonbc on Thu Mar 14, 2013 7:35 pm

Hello I have been tring to find support for this issue.

The heart of the problem is the support for my sound chip: ALC280

Code: Select all
Codec: Realtek ALC280
Codec: Intel PantherPoint HDMI

I have tried installing the newest alsa-hda-hdmk but it has not worked. (via https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/UpgradingAlsa/DKMS directions)
I have also worked the solution in post #3 @ https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1017017

When I try running the dpkg -i for the alsa-hda-dkms_0.1_all.deb I get:

Code: Select all
$ sudo dpkg -i alsa-hda-dkms_0.1_all.deb
dpkg: warning: downgrading alsa-hda-dkms from 0.201303141419~quantal1 to 0.1

I have been trying to resolve this issue for hours and it is driving me crazy that I cannot resolve it, I know that there has to be a solution somewhere.

Here are some other details just incase that they may help.
