I think I broke linux Mint! I installed the "third party" video drivers for my ATI graphics card and now it will not boot. I tried the "recovery" boot option, but do not know enough about the system to dare select any options. I have temporarily installed Mint 14.1 Cinnamon along side of Maya.
I have a LOT of data that I do not want to lose. Can anyone help?

The problem is with the ATI Drivers. I tested with the installation of the drivers on a fresh install of Mint 13 and the X windows would not fire up.
Problem bypassed. Reinstalled on a spare drive and in the process of migrating data.
