Xorg.conf for Intel HD Graphics?

Post by turboscrew »

What should the xorg.conf look like for ivy bridge?

I run X -configure and got an xorg.conf with:
Number of created screens does not match number of detected devices.
Configuration failed.
Server terminated with error (2). Closing log file.
It now looks like this (4 screens in server layout):

Re: Xorg.conf for Intel HD Graphics?

Post by turboscrew »

Also, is there something wrong?
lspci shows:
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v2/3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller (rev 09)

Is there any explanation about the error message:
Number of created screens does not match number of detected devices.
Configuration failed.
Server terminated with error (2). Closing log file.
I've seen lots of questions about that in the internet, and lots of device specific fix instructions, but
not anything about the cause.

I'd like to add the Option "AccelMethod " "sna", but how to do it, if I don't get a working xorg.conf?
Also, if something goes wrong, it's a pain in the ... to fix it with us keyboard layout and finnish keyboard.
using vi (no X) . You'll never know what happens when you press a key.

My MoBo is Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H and processor is Intel i3 (ivy bridge).
