Choppy Scrolling with Chromium
I've been trying Chromium with Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon, and I've noticed some odd behavior when scrolling vertically through web pages. It seems to work fine just after Chromium is opened, but it quickly starts to look choppy as it tries to render the content. (possible memory leaks?) I have a particular WordPress blog that's pretty image-intensive, and an initial scroll down is pretty smooth, but if I scroll back up and down again there's a pronounced "stuttering." (this never happens with Firefox) I was under the impression that Chromium was lighter/faster than Firefox, but I just don't see it. My system is no hotrod (1.86GHz 4MB ram), but I'm surprised that Firefox is working more smoothly. Anyone else encounter this? Any way to improve Chromium performance?

Just looking at fixes for other browsers may also give you an idea for a fix..

And the usual Flashsteaming can is a typical issue..

- Here is why I would start using Chrome for linux as soon as it would be released:
Flash and java crap are run as separate processes and doesn't influence page scrolling (no more choppy scrolling), doesn't distort the page in any way and even if flash crashes because of some reason the page still remains viewable.

Re: Choppy Scrolling with Chromium
I've been using Chrome for a very long time now. I always had issues with Chromium, and Chrome carries it's own version of flash which is more up-to-date than what's in Mint/Ubuntu.
Mint Cinnamon 20.1

I tried Chrome, and it exhibits the same behavior, exactly, as Chromium. I suppose I'll stick with Firefox for now, and will give Chrome another go when I get an upgraded linux machine.
