Wireless problems with Dell Lattitude E5430

I am running Linux Mint 14 Nadia on a Dell Latitude E5430. This same machine was previously running Windows 7 with no wireless problems. I love Linux Mint but I have a problem with the wireless. Every so often my wireless connection seems to hang up. Linux still claims that it has a connection but I can no longer browse or download patches, etc. Sometimes the connection seems to pick up after 30 seconds to a minute. Other times, I have to disconnect the wireless connection and reconnect. Can anyone please give me some advice?

I am not sure if your wireless card works with b43 driver, test it:

sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer

If it doesn't work, try the proprietary driver; download the driver and read README.txt to install it.

hi,

maybe this helps out.........

it might not be the card or its settings/peripherals, it might be the display!!! as foolish it´s sounds.........

I had also big problems with my new lonovo b590 getting and using proper wlan connections with isadora
in XP everything seemed fine

just after a smooth cleaning of the display my connection went straight from 30/40 percent to a 100% stable (even in my backyard!!!)

so you might just give it a try........

Are you really suggesting just cleaning my monitor (like with Windex)? Are you saying that cleaning the monitor helps the antennae? If not, I don't understand what you are suggesting. Can you be more specific?
