Grey Haired Geek

Post by Chozo »

Hello Peeps,

Been using various smaller distros such as Puppy on aging laptops and fixing other peoples PC's for some time but for years stubbornly refused to let go of Windows on my desktop machine. However after three straight weeks in a row Microsoft has managed to completely screw up my graphics drivers every time it loaded updates/patches so I bit the bullet and after trying a few different flavours opted for minty freshness.

Slowly getting up to speed on the features and I must say pleasently surprised how well it's all working so far. Tried ubuntu last year but it refused to cope at all with three screens running on the same card. If I can get my USB TV stick working as well then I'll be well impressed as this is probably one of the few reasons I kept hanging on to Windows.

Welcome to the Mint family. Glad that you're linking Mint. Which Desktop are using? (Cinnamon / Mate / KDE)?

Also, these links might be of help in getting your USB TV stick to work.

Plus, below are the links of custom search engines that help in searching linux related topics. I find them to be very useful to solve linux related issues and would to suggest have these bookmarked..
