In Cinnamon/MATE 201204, LibreOffice (Writer, Calc, Base) will not print in Landscape orientation, only Portrait, whatever the Office or Printer settings. (This was not a problem with LMDE Up3) and it's a major bug for most of my printer output.
To get landscape print-outs I have to save documents as html and print from Firefox, but it's a very unsatisfactory workaround, as the html format adds unwanted page headers and footers.
I don't have the problem with Firefox, Gimp, Kate.....
Can anyone suggest how to sort this out?
My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo 2100.

Does the same happen when you print to file?
Re: BAD BUG - LibreOffice won't print landscape in Cinnamon/
I think this is a bug in LibreOffice 3.4 instead of a Cinnamon / Mate problem. You probably had LO 3.3 before the installation of the update pack.

[SOLVED]
Thanks for that remark - my version is indeed Libreoffice 3.4.
Googling the problem I found the suggestion
File=> Printer Settings=> Properties=> Device=> Printer Language Type.
Change "PDF" to "PostScript Level 2".
That works OK.

That could be a printer specific problem - if you want to help other people with the same please add the printer make/model by editing the first post, then google can find this topic when searching for landscape printing problems on that printer model.

Re: BAD BUG - LibreOffice won't print landscape in Cinnamon/
I googled
"libreoffice 3.4 landscape printing"
and a number of bug reports about landscape printing in LibreOffice 3.4 came up.
The problem is evidently not specific to the printer as the reports involved several, none of which was the one I use.

Re: BAD BUG - LibreOffice won't print landscape in Cinnamon/
This is also a problem in other Linux systems, Puppy, Slacko, Mint, Parsix....
I think it is isolated to the Libreoffice printer settings...
The fix works but don't forget to select the printer you are modifying...
File>Printer Setup>Select Printer (be sure to select the printer are having problems with)>Properties>NOT PDF set to Postscript level (you may need to try a few of these till you find the one that works)
Some times CUPS will get confused after you have been making all these changes - You may find your printer PAUSED in Cups and can't print anything - Just go to CUPS Printer Administration and RESUME your printer after you have canceled all the problematic jobs...

Re: BAD BUG - LibreOffice won't print landscape in Cinnamon/
I ran into this same problem in Libre Office 3.5.4.2. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.
Chaning the printer settings didn't fix it for me. However, changing the Format>Page>Page>Orientation setting from landscape to portrait allowed the document to be printed as landcape.
Maybe the page layout being landscape and the printer orientation being landscape confuses it?

I was confused by that too. But eventually I found out that it indeed does work when setting it in Page instead of Printer Properties.
