Hello world
I have installed LMDE today on a old pc (AMD socket A MBO) and when i try to boot it i get "disk boot failiure, insert system disk and pres enter".
I have tried to install grub on the same partition as boot and on a separate one, same problem.
Tried to restore bios safe defaults, same problem.
Tried to reinstall LMDE, same problem.
Any suggestions?
PS
Im not using any raid, single HDD in the pc.

Re: LMDE wont boot after installation
Insert system disk and press enter is a windows OS type message

Re: LMDE wont boot after installation
No, clean install from a live usb, formatted the HDD containing a win xp installation and partitioned the drive before installing (a few times by now).
Re: LMDE wont boot after installation
A familiar message. It's not from Windows, it's from BIOS. Check your boot settings there.

well, I thought one should install grub to a drive (e.g. /dev/sda), not to a partition (e.g. /dev/sda1)... or not?Laxa wrote:I have tried to install grub on the same partition as boot and on a separate one
