Hello,
I've tried to install jDownloader from
http://jdownloader.org/download/index
(the multi-OS-zip).
Well, I installed it under /opt, but when I started it, the GUI never came up. So I threw away everything.
What's left now are three unnecessary entries under Menu->Internet->jDownloader
How can I get rid of them, and what's the proper way to install jDownloader?

Re: jDownloader does not install correctly
He he zerozero, I followed your advice with the .sh script. Now I have 6 menu entries "jDownloader" that all do not start up the program.
Doing an explicit java -jar JDownoader.jar lets the program end up with the ouput
If I only could get rid of these menu entries and have a clean LMDE again...

Code: Select all

Sounds like the next best thing to Microsoft Windows.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JDownloader
Since mid-2012, there have been multiple complaints that JDownloader's installer installs adware without the user's consent.
