LMDE not booting

Postby swagie on Tue Apr 09, 2013 11:00 am

Hi,

After installing LMDE I get this error:

GRUB loading.
Welcome to GRUB!

error: unknown filesystem
Entering rescue mode...
grub rescue>

My config is:

sda1 partition 1 76GB ext 4
sda1 partition 2 4GB swap

Does anybody have an idea, I'm fearly new to grub errors.

Thanks in advance

sorry, this can't be right; you can't have 2 partitions on sda1; and were did you installed grub when the installer asked? sda should be the correct place

@zerozero,

I installed grub on /sda and made 2 partitions on the sda drive (80GB) partition 1 mounted as / and partition 2 mounted as swap.

Also I tried ext4 and ext2 for partition 1 (/) but to no luck.

Any idea?
