I just installed Mint 14 w/ Cinnamon on my old Intel P2.
What i learned:
Install Plops to your MBR if you want to Install from USB.
USE the Universal USB installer from pendrivelinux to install your ISO to your USB(Pendrive)
-when it hangs on the vesa.c32 file press <tab> then type live and hit enter. It will take a few moments but will boot
What I've yet to learn:
-How to complete my installation of LAMP. Any advice? i got webserverpuppy but i have no idea how to use this.
-Is there any way to set my screen resolution to 640x480? i only have 256 ram on this machine.
Why I picked Linux Mint:
Need a GUI environment to re-learn linux. My last distro was fedora core 4
I mainly interested in creating a small private server for testing my scripts, and eventually i plan to run my own servers and host several corporate websites for my families business.
