I'm almost embarrased to ask this question but I am trying to put my Home folder on to the desktop.
I Can reach my home folder via the computer Icon but when I try to drag it across I get the message " you cannot put a folder into the same folder"
There is no option available when right clicking the folder to allow me to move it to the desktop.

Re: Home Folder
How about this:
Menu > Preferences > Cinnamon Settings > Desktop
Make sure "Home icon visible on desktop" is checked.
