Hi. I am fairly new to Linux and so far it seems to work very smoothly.
I have been using Roxio 10 (on Windows) to record & edit cassette tapes & to store as MP3 files.
Can anybody recommend an alternative software to run on Linux. I have trawled through endless programs & tried a few but cannot find a comparable package.
many thanks in anticipation
David

Re: Sound Recorder
"Sound Recorder" ("menu" + "sound & video") is a simple program that came with my version of 32-bit LM13. It records both "external" (mic) and "internal" (internet radio streams) audio. Unfortunately the program itself doesn't switch between external and internal, and the default is set for external (mic) recording. To change this you need to install another program ("PulseAudio Volume Control"), which you can do with the LM "Software Manager" (search for "pavucontrol"). The instructions for doing this, and using PulseAudio Volume Control to switch between external and internal recording are here (http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/999).
