I had the same problem. I found out I had a bad ISO. Might check the media on the ISO.

I think the default username is guest. Are you using Main or a CE?

If you still have the ISO, check the md5sum.txt (?). And Main use GNOME.

This is an error - you do not use a log in in the live CD and the picture is the normal GDM
Either you are not booting the live CD but an installed version or your disk is bad (or some odd hardware gives the Live CD hickups, but I don't think so)
