Desktop freeze when running wine applications with tray icon

Postby Metalgrid on Wed Apr 17, 2013 9:38 am

Greetings!
I installed Linux Mint 14 with Cinnamon and I'm loving it, but there's an Delphi 7 written application that I must work with (it was written by the old software engineer in my workplace and there are no alternatives for it unfortunately). It works with wine and under other DEs /used it on KDE before switching to Cinnamon/ with no problems but it hangs the whole desktop and makes in unclickable - nothing other than the tray icon is responding to mouse clicks. I can minimize everything with Winkey + D but there's no difference - the only icon that responds to the mouse is the tray icon. Is there any of you that experienced the same problem and is there any known workaround for it? Thanks in advance.

For now i disabled „Allow the window manager to decorate the windows“ and „Allow the window manager to control the windows“ and it works (kinda, still buggy but at least I can regain focus of my windows with alt-tabbing twice. Hope this helps someone.
Sorry for my English,
it's not my native language!
