Well, after much deliberation, months, I installed LMDE 64 bit to my spare computer, after my LM 13 Cinnamon decided not to co-operate any more ( tried to backport Cinnamon 1.6.7).
This prompted me to go for it and now I am using LMDE, and what's more my printer( Canon MP250 ) works, having read tales of printer woes with LMDE. The install went without a hitch (more sad anecdotes on that) and it dual boots well with Ubuntu on the same hard drive, so I'm pleased and relieved. Slow-ish boot though, which scared me at first, but seems stable.
No more Mint re-installs then, hopefully.....

I'll see your install and raise you one. I installed Debian Wheezyexcollier wrote:Well, after much deliberation, months, I installed LMDE 64 bit to my spare computer
I'm glad it went well for you. Cheers.

I'll raise you, I have been running Debian Wheezy (ARM) on a Raspberry Pi for a few months now! Ner ner ner ner ner!!
Slow, though, obviously. How do you find it on a proper computer?
No, seriously, I hope this runs smoothly, if it does my main laptop will get the same treatment, so that it might never need another re-install too.
