Poor image quality on second monitor and projector

i have been searching for a fix for this for the last few hours and haven't found a solution. I'm hoping that someone can help me find a fix.

I have a HP2000 laptop. When i connect to second monitor/projector through both the hdmi port and the vga port, the second monitor shows an image that looks like the signal has been corrupted. Part of the image looks like my display, but it is B&W, and the rest of the image is 'corrupted', as if there is 'noise' on the line that is mixing up the signal.

I am using LM13, and it worked just fine on my older laptop.

Help please.
