Hi! My name is Buddy. I've been an XP Pro fan for years.
I had a friend who deleted a major file in his windows OS and didn't have "the disc" to fix it.
I tried Knoppix and was able to fix his laptop.
Well, that was my first ever time in dealing with anything Linux. After that, I was facinated!
Checked out every Linus distro out there and finally picked Mint 14 - 64bit w/Cinnamon.
I've tried out the different desktops and keep going back to Cinnamon.
I dual booted but have only opened Windows 3 times in 3 weeks. It is so slow compared to Linux.
I am hooked for life!
I am using a 6 yr old Dell Vostro 1000 laptop with 500 gig hard drive and 4 GB ram.
Bye Bye Windows!

Re: Bye Bye Windows!
welcome on linux mint.
win system need much more maintenance than linux.
defragment, anti virus, spy ware, maleware etc.
but when I remember my early days , when i started to learn computer, windows was the only friend who encourage me to use computer without any computer knowledge.
I don't think we can forget user friendly win environment.
time to time, my need will be changed. But I don't want to say good bye to me old friend.
