Dual Boot Problem

Hi

Trying to run a dual boot system with Linux Mint 14 and Windows 7 HP.

The machine has two hard drives with both OS's on separate drives. The windows installation was installed first with the second hard drive disconnected. When this was completed the Windows drive was disconnected and the other was connected and I installed Mint.

The first drive was then re-connected and the BIOS adjusted to boot from the Windows drive. I then installed Easy BCD on the Windows installation and created a second entry in the boot list using the setting Grub 2 (automatically selected)

Now when I boot I get a two item boot menu which lists the two installations. When I select item 1 (Windows) the OS boots fine. When I select item 2 (Linux) I get the following command line style message.

If I disconnect the Windows drive the machine will boot into Mint fine.

Please help me to resolve this issue.

why work so hard grub can boot them both just fine connect both disks then download boot repair from here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair
Run it and it should set up both windows and linux to boot in Grub. Get rid of Easy BCD
it' not all that easy as your finding out.

It's probably because the Mint drive has become the second one while it was the first one during the installation.
I don't know grub 2 very well, but what you probably need to do is find its configuration file and change (hd0 to (hd1 .
