Hello, I've just abandoned Windows and moved to Linux two weeks ago. My first attempt was the popular Ubuntu, which I didn't like very much (only with the Gnome fallback it was usable) but I wanted something less bloated anyway. To make it short, despite the steep learning curve I've been using Mint for a week with great satisfaction.
I'm now experimenting with a Live OS which I could use at work. I need it to work as an installer also if the need arises - and it will, I'm sure people at work would love it. So I'm making a customized (fully updated and localized to Czech) distro based on Mint Xfce 64bit. All worked fine in chroot, but when I start it up it's impossible to connect to the internet. It even recognizes the network, it's possible to connect with a password (both with wireless and eth) but it won't get to the internet. If I boot up from the original iso all works fine. Have you got any idea what could have gone wrong during the process? Maybe some package removed as useless?
Thanks a lot

Re: Mintconstructor - no internet
My problem was solved following this guide: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=117870
resolv.conf file was deleted.
Is there going to be any patch for mintconstructor to fix this behaviour? I suppose it breaks the usability of the app for people who don't dig in the forum for answers.

Re: Mintconstructor - no internet
I had the exact same problem you had and originally my post was a plea for help. It was completely ignored by these forums and I eventually figured it out myself. I editted the question into a guide afterwards in the hopes that mintconstructor would be corrected, but it appears that has not happpened. Thank you for referencing my guide. I hope that others using mintconstructor with the same resolv.conf problems find it useful. Especially since the original tutorial I referenced in my guide says nothing of mintconstructor deleting resolv.conf and pretty much rendering all our efforts for nought.
I get the impression that it took you a while to find my guide. Any advice you have that would make it easier to find for others would be welcome.

The chance would be higher in case of reporting a bug here: https://github.com/linuxmint/mintconstructor/issuesfreemantsinq wrote:I editted the question into a guide afterwards in the hopes that mintconstructor would be corrected, but it appears that has not happpened.

- if some-one, who actually does know the answer, - doesn't 'see' the query.
or if the post, simply gets hidden, within the forum
- you won't get any answer, at all .. ..
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] - when your problem is solved!
