An interesting drivers/hardware benchmark

Post by eanfrid »

An interesting benchmark to compare open-source vs proprietary drivers and ATI/AMD vs NVidia hardware. Looks like the ATI/AMD open-source drivers are in better shape than those running on NVidia hardware. I have a HD6770 with OS drivers and I am glad to read such good tests results :)

From the article:
The open-source NVIDIA driver developed by the "Nouveau" project is done through clean-room reverse-engineering and as such they have large hurdles to jump...
I've long held the opinion that the nouveau driver is more bug-riddled than a sandwich left on an ant nest. Now I know why.

I use the closed source drivers. I have one of these three slot beasts and have to put bricks on top of my case to stop the tower from levitating when the five fans kick in.
