In "rotate cube" "actions", double-click on "initiate". In the "button" field, type "button2". I tried button 3 to no avail. I guess LinuxMint designates the scroll wheel button as #2.

My Initiate is <Control><Alt>Button1 for mouse control. You can only use it on a blank area of desktop, it won't work with an app full desktop. (in case you didn't know. 
)
