I'm having a problem with my Welcome to LM splash screen. Normally when it comes up I just dismiss it. But when I chose to click on one of the icons on the splash screen itself I then cannot get rid of the splash screen or move it. I end up having to reboot and dismiss it as it acts as a modal window.
Very odd behaviour and I have no idea what to do apart from the obvious but would like to fix it. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

I also suffer from this issue. The aggravating part is that when I want to use it to learn a few things, I cannot read the browser behind it. It just stays in the way and won't "dismiss"...
You are not alone in this issue.
We need some help. Anyone???

What desktop environment are you using? In cinnamon, you can try alt+F2 then "r" in the box that pops up. This redraws the windows, and may make it go away. I think the command is the same in Mate, but I'm not sure.

You can go to MENU/SETTING/WELCOME SHOW
If your computer works well, don't take drivers more.In my computer some of them cause errors for screen, but them can take off from use too.
I hope this help you.

I'm having just the same issue, and so far the replies I've seen appear to say that indeed it needs fixing.
I'm stll at the beginning of learning to drive this system, but has anyone found an answer to the fixed welcome screen that won't go away, please?

Clk on Menu, choose Applications, open Administration section, scroll down to Welcome Screen, right clk on it, choose to uninstall. Problem solved. That's what I did. No sense in wasting time with something that bugged.Yanadic wrote:I'm having just the same issue, and so far the replies I've seen appear to say that indeed it needs fixing.
