I know I can install Gwenview but I'm not sure I want all the kde dependencies too.
The feature I like in Gwenview (I'm not sure the basic Mint KDE has this enabled) is you can > Edit > Crop
And you get a dragable handle on each side
It's quick and accurate
Suggestions welcomed...
