The Web site of the Elementary team had gone off air today. While they were seeking answers to make the only superb distro, their glory had been taken away by Pear Linux with its 6 and now Haze OS with more additions.
There were times when the space race was there, the Americans were always giving a date to shoot the rocket, but also giving all kinds of excuses to not to keep to the deadline, or the date of shooting the rocket to Cosmos. Most times, the excuses were so silly. This is just like the Elementary team's release of the only-super distro.

Re: Elementary OS Luna
Yep i was put of by their insistent slow mo not ready till we say it's ready. One blog post was about window controls they have been researching and considering for a whole damn year! And how insistent they were pointing out users lack of understanding in designing the perfect OS and what the user wanted or thought they needed wasn't really appropriate for their OS.
On the one hand nothing wrong developing your Ideal OS to your exacting standards. It's another to release it to the internet masses and expect everyone to sit idly buy with little info on a roadmap of any kind to rely on. And ignore the user base needs in a OS.
But they are still there. And just went there to check out my link.

And downed Pear 6.1 64bit and live CD gave a black screen. Tried added nomodset still black screen.
1st distro that didn't boot to the desktop. As 5 others no problems liveCD to desktop.

Re: Elementary OS Luna
Just a different view. I've been running Elementary Luna part-time for about six months, I guess. It works great. It's beautiful. Those are the two main things for me, but once that's there I can do the bits of reconfiguring that please me. I tend to give developers their lead when the job is done well. These guys have their own ideas about how things should or should not be and move in their own time toward their design. The pace doesn't bother me. Even in the daily builds, Luna was solid and it still is in the beta. I like Pear6, too, quite a lot, and I've recommended it to a couple of new users I thought might enjoy it. I don't see it as competition especially for Elementary. I did want to try out HazeOS, but there was no direct download and the torrent didn't do anything. I tried several times and will try again.

Hey, Bro! I'm downloading new HazeOS 4 right now! There is no torrent yet, there is no 64bit yet, it's hosted at Google Disk (OMG), but it's downloadable.Adelante wrote: I did want to try out HazeOS, but there was no direct download and the torrent didn't do anything.
