Reboot instead of shutdown

Post by Gigglo »

Hi,

there's one annoying issue at the fresh LDME Mate installation (3.2.0.4-amd64) on my HP Elitebook 6930p:

The laptop restarts instead of shutdown.

Tried it with:

Code: Select all

shutdown

Code: Select all

poweroff

Code: Select all

halt

and various parameters and of course the power button in Mate.

Until last week there was Debian Squeeze on this laptop and I never had these problems.

I would like to install an other kernel to see if it works better, but I'm not sure which one I should choose and how to install it properly. :?:

Here are some simular threads, but I can't find a solution to this issue:

Please help me, thanks.

Regards

Gigglo

I'm sure this is not the answer but I just thought I'd mention it.

All my machines, like me, are very antiquated. I find if before shutting down I inadvertently leave a USB stick in my powered USB hub, the machine auto-magically reboots.

It might also depend on your usb device power management choices in the BIOS.
