how do i set system to let me login as root?
ok now i cant login as root from login screen i enabled root password when i first installed or how do i set it now so i can login as root thanx

This is a very bad idea. Why would you want to log in as root? Running as root opens up all kinds of problems and is not advised.

Use sudo instead in Gnome. If you need to start a GUI app in KDE as root use kdesu. Examples:
Gnome ---- gksu gedit /somefolder/somefilename
KDE -------- kdesu kate /somefolder/somefilename
For terminal commands in both KDE and Gnome:
sudo apt-get install someprogram
I can see no need to ever be logged into the GUI as root. In fact, I always advise Ubuntu/derivative users not to even set a root password.
