ALT+TAB is very slow

Post by entorri »

working several weeks for applications development using MATE
my bug report is a performance one regarding ALT+TAB switching which is VERY slow.

Here goes my kernel live config just in case. it shouldn't be SELinu but it clould be the X multitasker preloading perhaps?

I had the same issue running Mint 15 Mate, after turning on "Use compositing" option inside the Desktop Settings Gui. If I turn it off, ALT+TAB runs much faster than before, without lag.

Menu->Preferences->Desktop Settings->Windows->Performance->Use compositing (off)

I don't know how to do this from command line.

Good luck.

Menu->Preferences->Desktop Settings->Windows->Performance->Use compositing (off)
After merely checking "disable thumbnails in alt-tab" in the same gui config made my alt-tab reasonably fast again, while still leaving compositing enabled (...which I think is required for e.g. docky, which I also use.)

Apologies for belated reply,
