And another one bites the dust..
OK, so what..
The only OS that companies depend on happens to be windows OS, since they have the majority share, at least according to any business stats that ever get released
--naturally it is probably overstated (counts all licenses, whether installed or not. + OEM data)
Now Apple gets 5% of the market and in browser stats is probably 1% or less, certainly less than Google/Chrome/chromium or even Opera: certainly not as much as Internet Explorer
--although I expect Google's Chrome to be making in roads there
--Firefox seems to be faltering, but Mozilla parts are still OK
In other words Apple's market share of PC business is [probably not that much better than Linux, even if they have hardware to support their OS
--as to tablets, Android is making inroads into that arena (and of course Apple wasn't first with the tablet idea: ultra portable notebooks were/various manufacturers)
Anti-virus companies are in te business of selling product
They will endlessly hype the need for their software, whether really justified or not and their erstwhile target business is the 90% + that windows OS can command, certainly for SME (business groups..)
--it is a self-fulfilling prophesy
Is it any wonder that they don't pay much attention to anything outside that mileau..
