A puzzle, not a problem!

This is an odd story - I don't know whether this is the most appropriate forum.

On my Celena screen I have had for a long time an icon with the label: "42GB NTFS Volume (sdc1) - it looks just like all the others representing various partitions. What's odd about it?
Its Properties say it is a Desktop configuration file - 215 bytes - and the Link tab says its URL is sdc10, but Comment gives its 'Name' - 42GB NTFS Volume (sdc1)
It belongs to me, so i can rename it - I have often done so but the new name doesn't survive a re-boot.
It says it is (sdc1) - but if I open it, what appears is sdc10.
It says it is 42GB NTFS - well, sdc1 used to be 42GB but was re-sized long ago: now it is 40.53 GB according to GParted. There is currently no partition of size 42GB. sdc10 is only 32.23 GB.

There is another icon labelled home-Daryna (which is the label of sdc10) - this also displays sdc10 when opened. Properties says this is a folder, not a desktop configuration file.
Yet another icon, of slightly different appearance looking like a folder, labelled sdc1, is a folder opening to show sdc1.

I've just re-installed Celena in its original (but slightly enlarged) partition of sda - after initially not appearing, all my NTFS partition icons are back - including this oddity. The other 3, which show correctly with their labels, and which I use, do show twice. For each, 1 icon is labelled like the "Puzzle" - 41GB Volume (sda1) (or sdb2 or sdb3) and is a Desktop configuration file, while a second similar icon, with simply the Label of the partition, is a folder. All open to show their appropriate partition.

Finally, Linux Mint Wiki has nothing on Desktop configuration files, and Google reveals a lot of puzzled enquirers about the term!

Can you post the output of:
sudo fdisk -l

(thats 'l' as in list) and also

sudo cat /etc/fstab

Sorry - that only happens in Celena, and that collapsed on me last night - I'm currently in a re-installed Daryna.

I hope to get Celena going again for a short while, and will then post the data you request.
