Battery Icon Bug in Cinnamon 1.4

Post by mister_playb »

Hi,

I use LMDE with Cinnamon 1.4, and have a HP ProBook 4530s. The Laptop is 1 month old. In windows the battery shows 100%, but in Cinnamon 95% all the time. Not a big big deal but its still a bug. Thanks.

Hi,

sorry my silly question, but why does you battery ALWAYS show 95% btw. in window 100%? Is it an "endless battery" :-)

Now in real: a battery has a "design capacity" a "full loaded capacity". E.g. the "full loaded capacity" shrinks in case of battery gets older. Maybe win is using "max full loaded capacity" as 100% while LMDE is using "desing capacity" as 100%. You can check this values at the power manager statistic.

Nice greetings.

The laptop is new, just one month old, so its not a problem with my laptop. I re-installed LMDE and now it shows 94% all the time. I dont think that my battery got 1% older just one 1 hour later. This is bug in Cinnamon. Windows 7 says 100%, Ubuntu 11.04 says 100%, LMDE with cinnamon 94%.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've googled pages of this and looked for a bug report and have not found one. I am having the exact same issue as mister_playb. I'm running a 6-month-old laptop, Ubuntu shows 100%, other DE's show 100%, and Windows 7 & 8 show 100% on full battery.

Anyone shed some light on this bug?

Also, it's not just cinnamon in LMDE. I also have this bug in the newest Linux Mint 15 64-Bit.
