how to style Fluxbox on LM13 just like in LM9 Fluxbox?

Post by dexl »

Hello,
I would really like to have a current Linux Mint with Fluxbox. I loved LM9 Fluxbox version but it is already obsolete. Are there any tips for getting the look of that version in LM13 with Fluxbox? I am especially interested in getting the Tint2 panel and the look of LM9 FB. Thank you.

Could I just run a Live CD of LM9 Fluxbox and copy the .fluxbox folder over to my LM13?

OK, I installed all the files that are on LM9 Fluxbox page:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install tint2
Enabled tint2 in the autostart file:
tint2 &

Now, how do I get the menu style like it was in LM9 Fluxbox?

In the lm9 fluxbox cd. Look in the Home folder for a config folder. You may have to have show hidden files selected. In the config folder you should see a tint2 folder.
Copy the contents of that folder over to your lm13 fluxbox install into the same folder.

hi, is there any chance to get all the fluxbox edition version, style and config's in lmde, or in debian??

I mean the fantastic menu, the tint2, etc,etc,etc ?

I never understood why mint have discontinued this distro...what a shame...this was the best distro of mint in that time...

Is there any plans for a new release??

thanks in advance
