I have a WiFi Lan in my house.
Searching in this forum, I succesfully (not really, very frecuently when I try to copy files it stops and I have to terminate the process or reboot) connected the Mint PC with the oder with Win7.
But in Windows I can not "see" the Mint PC.
I shared two folders with "shared folders tool" that I found in whisker menu. Nothing happends.
I'm blocked.
I can not see my Mint 15XFCE Computer through Win7

Re: I can not see my Mint 15XFCE Computer through Win7
I do the steps until 5c. Then I went to the room where the PC with Win7 it's and I was able to see this computer and browse in the folders.
But, I don't know, later I tried and it wasn't visible!

Re: I can not see my Mint 15XFCE Computer through Win7
So you can see the Mint machine sometimes and can't see it a few moments later? Then I went to the room where the PC with Win7 it's and I was able to see this computer and browse in the folders.
But, I don't know, later I tried and it wasn't visible!
Please post from the Mint machine the output of the following command:
Code: Select all
smbtree
Code: Select all
sudo service smbd start
sudo service nmbd start
Also, this may seem like an odd question but do you have iTunes, Safari, or any kind of Adobe Photoshop applications installed on that Win7 box?

Re: I can not see my Mint 15XFCE Computer through Win7
Hello,
First, thank for your help and time.
I typed smbdtree and nothing happends.
I typed the other two sentences and this is what I have, when I wrote smbdtree again:
WORKGROUP
\\XING
\\ROSALINDAPC rosalindapc server (Samba, Ubuntu)
\\ROSALINDAPC\IPC$ IPC Service (rosalindapc server (Samba, Ubuntu))
\\ROSALINDAPC\Imágenes
\\ROSALINDAPC\Descargas
\\ROSALINDAPC\print$ Printer Drivers
I went to the room with the Win7 and I can see this computer!
Tomorrow I will do more tests. And I will tell you.
No iTunes, no Safari and no Photoshop (I used in the past GIMP, but actually it isn't installed) on the computer with Win7.
Thank you.

Sometimes I see it, sometimes not. When I see it, sometimes I can enter, and sometimes not :S
