Post by dbourrion »

Hi
Well, almost everything is in the subject.
Using mint LMDE, got a kernel panic and a freeze on boot - can't understand what's going on.
Any help welcome

Best regards
D

In my experience with a 2008 Macbook Pro a CD boot tends to be more successful. You should try using a CD to install. Put in the CD and on boot hold down the C key to tell it to boot to the CD. Remember that a Mac is only intended to install and boot to MacOS, so it can be finicky about installation media.

If you are interested in dual booting with MacOS you may be interested in rEFIt - http://refit.sourceforge.net/ - a multi-OS boot manager for Macs.
