Hi (again) ... I know, that I'm buggin a lot, but I'm new to linux and need some advice...
Using Microsoft 4000 Natural Ergonomic Keyboard (German Layout) ... this part works fine,
Wanna use the Special-Keys (HotButtons) for "Favorites", "Programmable_1", "Programmable_2", ... don't work at the moment.
I've already looked here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?s= ... ostcount=1
By default (working fine, too):
- Multimedia keys (mute, play/pause, volume) --> volume has no effect cause of a soundcard driver issue
- Calculator (opens Calculator)
... is there a chance to get help when I post the "xev" output?

Re: Microsoft 4000 Natural Ergonomic Keyboard
I think there is a package called KeyTouch, which might be available through Synaptic, that is supposed to restore the functionality of the multimedia keys. I have not tried it, but have seen it mentioned in a few forums. You may wish to read the documentation and see if you want to give it a spin. Good luck.
Re: Microsoft 4000 Natural Ergonomic Keyboard
Hi,
I've tried your software ... great idea, but my Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 v1.0 (USB) has got some unsolved "Multimedia-Keys" remaining - aren't recognized not even by the editor I guess. I tried the preconfigs from the authors website and the keytouch-editor, last one with that result:
this is device (none!):
a) Button "My Favorites"
b) Programmable-Key "1"
c) Programmable-Key "2"
d) Programmable-Key "3"
e) Programmable-Key "4"
f) Programmable-Key "5"
g) F-Switch F10 (OK) / "Check spelling"-default (unrecognized)
don't know how to mirror just one key from the standard keyboard for enhanced calc-keyboard support:
this is device (event1, not event2):
h) "<- / Shift back / erase" right above the Numpad is unhandled
this is device (event2):
i) "(" right above the Numpad is unhandled
j) ")" right above the Numpad is unhandled
k) "=" right above the Numpad is unhandled
and I don't figured out how to "zoom in" / "zoom out" mapping?
(perhaps this is would be only an advanced "crtl++ / crtl--" but don't know how to configure, too)
