Out of range problem / Poor Resolution - Hot Graphics Card

Hello, I am attempting to reconfigure my

The best I can achieve is to boot with the E2360 monitor, while the L1919S displays an "OUT OF RANGE 74.9kHz / 60kHz" message.
This is the best state I've got, after attempting to install the newest amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run drivers.
I can not uninstall the drivers:

Code: Select all

# ./amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run --uninstall

while the L1919S displays an "OUT OF RANGE 74.9kHz / 60kHz" message
This normally means that your graphic card is set up to use a resolution that is not supported by your monitor. I'm not quit sure how to fix this though...

I'm trying to reconfigure X to a valid configuration, but I can't do it.

Re: Out of range problem / Poor Resolution - Hot Graphics Ca

I changed the subject to Poor Resolution - Hot Graphics Card since I ran:

Code: Select all

apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev*
and after a reboot got a dual monitor display.

Now I get:

Code: Select all

# inxi -G
Graphics: Card: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Juniper XT [AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series]
           X.org: 1.13.0 drivers: ati,radeon (unloaded: fbdev,vesa) tty size: 156x38 Advanced Data: N/A for root out of X
Yet:
My left monitor (LG L1919S) appears as unknown and I can just set a poor resolution of 1024x768.
My right monitor (LG E2360) is ok and has an excellent 1920x1080.

Additionally, on Mint 14 the graphics card:
1. starts (on boot) with 69-70C
2. reaches 98 Celcius while displaying to videos (one on each monitor) after only 25 minutes.
3. falls back to 88C 10 minutes after closing the videos.
I'm trying now to reproduce this cooking-hot-problem on windows 7, but based on previous experience I doubt I can.
If you're curious, here is a short avi (2.4MB) of the graphics card fan: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/117 ... SI_fan.AVI

To sum up:
1. How can I get a higher resolution on my left monitor?
2. Should I worry about such high temperatures?
