Well, probably a good idea to instead install Linux Mint 15. Linux Mint 10 is obsolete and there's no easy way to upgrade from 10 to 15 other than installing 15 to replace 10. You can pick the edition you want from here: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php. The name of the file you download should start with "linunxmint-15-", or you are downloading the wrong version.

You don't really need UNetbootin: http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/744. I don't know enough about UNetbootin, as it never worked for me, but I believe you should also be able to tell it to use an ISO file you have downloaded yourself.

In my case , when using unetbootin (unetbootin-linux-585) ,
I select the ISO (in the lower section) that I've manually downloaded and it work great each time !!
(I said manually caus' I keep my ISO up to date with mintconstructor in case of a forced reinstall)

Hope it help !!!
