Creative X-Fi Sound Card

Post by bgast1 »

My understanding is that the new beta X-Fi drivers are not working in Hardy Heron yet. I would make the assumption that they won't work in Elyssa either then. It is also my understanding that it is up to ALSA to come out with a driver for this card. Is that correct? How long will that take, and what is the process? I am currently fine with my on-board sound, but being able to use all of my hardware would certainly be a plus in making the break away from M$ completely. Having grown up with computers since the DOS days, I have allowed myself to become quite bitter with what Microsoft has done to the entire computer industry and want to exercise my right to freedom and choose to no longer support them.
