Low resolution graphic with Shuttle XH61V

Hi all,

Recently bought a Shuttle XH61V mini PC and installed Mint 14 Mate on it. Everything works fine exept the graphics resolutions is 1024x768 max. Is this a lack of linux support for this motherboard? How can i solve this?

11/7/13 update....

I followed the advice here
http://www.techlw.com/2012/08/install-latest-intel-gpu-drivers-in.html
and got the ppa from
https://launchpad.net/~glasen/+archive/intel-driver

Did the apt-get update, then checked synaptic for udpates; ended up doing the "sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel" directly. Video corruption now gone!

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm wondering if anything you might have learned would apply to my situation.

I've just built a similar system (LM 13 (Maya/Mate), XH61V, AMI BIOS ver 1.05, Intel Core i3-3240, 8GB RAM [2 x 4GB], WD 750GB disk) and also am having some graphics issues:

After a boot, the login screen seems fine. However, after login, the display is corrupted - that is "speckled" to the point of being unreadable in some places. Now, the interesting thing is that, after running a few applications (and I can find no cause and effect), the display heals itself and stays (almost) perfectly fine until another boot (logout/in does not recreated the problem without a boot in between). "Almost" in the preceeding because the one persistent flaw I've found is with the "Eye of Mate" image viewer - if cycling through landscape and portrait images, a landscape image will not be completely cleared from the buffer when the portrait image is displayed.

The only thing I can postulate regarding running some applications which results in healing the display is that it must have something to do with memory usage - the BIOS has a couple of, rather cryptic, graphics settings; from the BIOS documentation (cut & pasted - the truncations are theirs)...

Select which graphics controller to use as the primary boot device.
The choice: PCIE, Onboard.

Onboard IGD Graphics Memory Size.
The choice: 32M,64M,128M,256M,512M

Since the Core i3 processor handles graphics, the selection should seem to be "onboard". I've tried pretty much all the memory size settiings with no evident change in behavoir.
