If the printer is attached to the computer and turned on, run Printers or Printing. There will be a button (Add or a plus-sign) to add a printer. The printer should appear in the list, highlight it and OK, Yes or Continue until the printer is installed.
If it's a network printer, select "network printer" from the list and wait a few seconds, it should appear.
