Need translators for the Elyssa user guide !

Postby ed@Mint on Wed May 14, 2008 9:12 am

Hi all,

With the upcoming new version of Linux Mint, Elyssa, is obviously coming a new version of our beloved and popular user guide :)
Clem is actually finishing the writing and it should be out some time in the next week.

We need people to translate it in as many languages as possible

So, if you have good writing skills in your language and some spare time to take part to such a beautiful project as Linux Mint, propose yourself ! :)

The links to the guide (pdf and odt) will be posted here as soon as they become available.

Good work everybody !

Current languages :
  • French
  • German (DracorX & louis77)
  • Swedish (Zwopper)
  • Norwegian (Ede)
  • Bulgarian (spas87 & emil_pavlov)
  • Bangla (gizmo)
  • Greek (twin)
  • Czech (Majkl_is_already_in_use)
  • Russian (sdemchenko)
  • Ukrainian (sdemchenko)
  • Italian (http://www.linuxmint-italia.org)
  • Danish (HJess)
    //Spanish (?)
  • Catalan (wuying_ren)

OK, I do the german one provided you send it to me by email. I can't do it online as I'm only online at my girls place or at work, but can do it offline. BUT, depending on the size, it might take a bit, I can only offer about 6 - 8 hours a week!

Hello dracorX, hi fans,
I can help you with the German translation, i.e. we can work together. I'm online all the time and have very good German language skills and I love mint :-).

I'll be glad to help you with the Bulgarian translation, but I have exams in the next two weeks. After that, you can feel free to write me a pm to inform me of your progress and to split what's left.

As there will be a second beta for Elyssa, Clem and the team have a lot of work these days.
The user guide is planned for after the release of the second beta. (i'd say roughly 2-3 weeks)
I'll PM all the volunteers when it'll be out.

Thank you anyway to those willing to participate in the translation : Zwopper, DracorX, Ede, Louis77, Spas87, Emil_pavlov, Gizmo.
We now have people for : French, Swedish, German, Norwegian, Bulgarian and Bengla ! 8)

If you can speak another language, propose yourself !

Thank you Twin and Majkl :)

As said earlier the guide won't be out before 2 weeks, so there's no urgency.
And, in the end, you have 6 months before Mint 6 comes out...
