Cinnamon takes long time toload after we log in and sometimes we start to worry. Adding a welcome screen that loads after MDM would be nice and assuring

Something akin to the loading screen of KDM, after you login before KDE is loaded? Some machines can't cope with that if it's more than just an image (I have a reasonable rig, and it struggles).

Look into playing around with MDM from the MATE Github page, and see if you can get it to display a "loading image" after logging in, which gives way to the DE you are using.Brahim wrote:It can be just an image Actually that's what suggesting Maybe they can add three progress dots to it Can I add it myself? I want it on Cinnamon actually I try to do it on Mint 13 Cinnamon They can save us the mess if they do it because MDM is relatively slower than LightDM and needs that welcome screen which would add more beauty and identity to Cinnmon
BTW I've already suggested that at Github here https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/2668

Mint Cinnamon uses MDM, that's why I mentioned MDM. The github for MDM is here. If you want it with LightDM, go bug the LightDM developers.Brahim wrote:clfarron4 wrote:
