install error, cant "find" root partition

Post by kej23 »

I'm running the live-installer, but every time I get stuck when I have choosen the disk on which I want to install:

What do I do here? I really didn't want to manually partition the hard-drives, but it seems like thats my only option? Is there a neat little "trick" to solve this? It would really save my Christmas :)

thank you so much! Its working now! I've been using Linux for 10 years but I've never experienced a catch like this;)
Is there an "easy" way to setup FDE, or does it require manual partitioning?

Yeah, I've seen people complaining that it's not intuitive... and it's really not, I agree :)
What is FDE?

Full Disk Encryption. Its standard on many other distroes, but I havn't seen anything about it during the install. Usually its during the partitioning you set it up...

IIRC this particular installer doesn't support it.
